Car Warranty Policy

Warranty Coverage

The warranty cover defects in software defects, defective components, or VinFast manufacturing defects, provided the vehicle is properly used and maintained. Items listed under Warranty Exclusions are not covered.
Replacement parts provided under warranty are the smallest individual genuine parts or components supplied by VinFast.
Warranty coverage is valid throughout Vietnam and is provided exclusively at VinFast Authorized Service Centers and Dealers.
Warranty repairs are performed free of charge in accordance with the applicable warranty terms and conditions.

VinFast is not responsible for recalling and replacing the vehicle with another product if the defect in quality, materials, or manufacturer assembly can be remedied through warranty repair.

New Vehicle Warranty Period

VinFast Warranty Booklets are now available electronically. At vehicle handover, the Authorized Dealer will guide customers through confirming, accessing, and using the Electronic Warranty Booklet.

For vehicles under standard use

(*) Commercial use applies to business customers, including but not limited to vehicles currently or previously used as taxis, passenger transport vehicles including services such as Grab, Be, or similar platforms-rental vehicles, shuttle vehicles, and delivery vehicles.

For any vehicle previously used commercially, the commercial-use warranty will continue to apply after transfer of ownership.

Parts replaced under the vehicle warranty are covered for the remainder of the vehicle warranty period or the remaining warranty period of the replacement part, where a separate parts warranty applies.

Limited Warranty for New-Vehicle Components

High-voltage battery

High-voltage battery supplied with a new vehicle under standard use:

VF 8, VF 9, Lạc Hồng 900 LX: 10 years or 200,000 km, whichever comes first.
VF 3, VF 5, VF 6, VF 7, VF Minio Green, VF Herio Green, VF MPV7, VF e34, VF Nerio Green, VF Limo Green, VF 8 The All New: 8 years or 160,000 km, whichever comes first.
VF EC Van: 7 years or 160,000 km, whichever comes first.

High-voltage battery supplied with a new vehicle currently or previously used commercially:

VF 3, VF 7, VF 8, VF 9, VF 8 The All New: 3 years or 100,000 km, whichever comes first.

For any vehicle previously used commercially, the commercial-use battery warranty will continue to apply after transfer of ownership, even if the vehicle is no longer used commercially.

12V battery

Gasoline vehicles: 1 year or 20,000 km, whichever comes first.

Electric vehicles: 1 year, with unlimited mileage.

Rust Perforation

Standard use:

VF 8, VF 9, Lạc Hồng 900 LX: 10 years from the vehicle warranty activation date, with unlimited mileage. This applies to metal panels perforated under normal operating conditions due to material or manufacturer assembly defects.
VF 3, VF 5, VF 6, VF 7, VF Minio Green, VF Herio Green, VF MPV7, VF e34, VF Nerio Green, VF Limo Green, VF 8 The All New: The warranty period is 7 years with unlimited mileage.
VF EC Van: 5 years with unlimited mileage.

Commercial use: 3 years or 100,000 km for VF 3, VF 7, VF 8, VF 9, and VF 8 The All New.

Exterior Paint

Standard use:

VF 8, VF 9, Lạc Hồng 900 LX, Lạc Hồng 800S, Lạc Hồng 900S: 10 years with unlimited mileage.
VF 3, VF 5, VF 6, VF 7, VF Minio Green, VF Herio Green, VF MPV7, VF e34, VF Nerio Green, VF Limo Green, VF 8 The All New: 7 years with unlimited mileage.
VF EC Van: 5 years with unlimited mileage.

Commercial use: 3 years or 100,000 km, whichever comes first, for VF 3, VF 7, VF 8, VF 9, and VF 8 The All New.

Suspension Components

Standard use: Suspension Components (shock absorbers, stabilizer bars, upper link assemblies, lower control arms, ball joints, and upper strut mounts) are covered for 5 years or 130,000 km, whichever comes first.

Commercial use: For VF 3, VF 7, VF 8, VF 9, and VF 8 The All New, the warranty period is 3 years or 100,000 km.

Tires

Tires fitted to the vehicle, including the spare tire where applicable, are covered for defects or damage caused by the tire manufacturer’s material, manufacturing, or storage defects. Coverage begins on the Vehicle Warranty Activation Date. Warranty details by product type are as follows:

Gasoline vehicles: 5 years, with unlimited mileage.

Electric vehicles: Covered by the tire manufacturer.

Where the tire manufacturer provides warranty service in Vietnam, the tires will be covered under the tire manufacturer’s own warranty policy.

Tire items and damage not covered by warranty:

Damage resulting from vandalism, accidents, or impact.
Damage resulting from improper tire use during operation.
Damage resulting from improper tire maintenance or operation at non-standard tire pressure.
Tires are wear items that deteriorate over time and mileage; such wear is not covered by warranty.
Conditions assessed as not affecting tire quality, performance, or function.
Use of tires for purposes other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
Tires that have been repaired, modified, retreaded, or patched.
Damage resulting from external factors such as road conditions or other contact surfaces, chemicals, pollution, acid rain, hail, sand, air, salt, stones, fire, natural disasters, etc.
Other resulting issues that cannot be proven to be directly or indirectly related to tire quality, including loss-of-use costs, time, fuel, telephone, accommodation, or other incidental expenses.

Genuine Replacement Parts Warranty

Genuine replacement parts warranty.

Genuine replacement parts purchased by the customer and installed during a repair at a VinFast Authorized Service Center/Dealer are covered as follows:

Parts, excluding the 12V battery and high-voltage battery:

Gasoline vehicles - Fadil, Lux A, Lux SA, President: 12 months or 20,000 km from the date the repair is completed, whichever comes first.
Electric vehicles: 2 years or 40,000 km from the purchase date, whichever comes first.

Parts purchased but not installed at a VinFast Authorized Service Center/Dealer are not covered under this policy.

To qualify for replacement-parts warranty coverage, customers must retain the relevant service records, including repair orders and invoices.

High-voltage battery:

A battery purchased by the customer and installed in the vehicle at a VinFast Authorized Service Center/Dealer after vehicle handover is covered for 4 years or 80,000 km from the purchase date, whichever comes first.

12V battery:

Gasoline vehicles: 1 year or 20,000 km, whichever comes first.
Electric vehicles: 1 year, with unlimited mileage.

Genuine Accessories Warranty

Accessories, excluding the tow hitch including electrical components, side steps, and luggage rack, are covered for 2 years from the purchase date, with unlimited mileage.

Accessories including the tow hitch including electrical components, side steps, and luggage rack:

Standard use: 5 years from the purchase date, with unlimited mileage.

Commercial use: 3 years from the purchase date, with unlimited mileage, for VF 3, VF 7, VF 8, VF 9, and VF 8 The All New.

Genuine accessories that do not require permanent installation on the vehicle, where applicable, such as portable chargers, tire repair kits, floor mats, roof shades, tire chains, luggage organizers, warning triangles, and reflective vests, are covered for 2 years from the purchase date, with unlimited mileage.

Accessories replaced under the accessories warranty are covered for the remaining warranty period of the original accessory.

To qualify for VinFast accessories warranty coverage, customers must retain the relevant installation records, final invoices, and receipts.

Warranty Exclusions

Please review the following warranty exclusions to understand and protect your warranty benefits.

Damage resulting from repair, adjustment, connection of non-genuine accessories, or unauthorized modifications from the original design, such as changes to power output, structure, etc.

Damage resulting from misuse, abuse, negligence or improper operation, such as driving under extreme conditions including racing, rough-road driving, overloading, or use and storage that do not follow the Owner’s Manual.

Damage caused by the use of non-genuine parts, or lubricants, coolant, etc. that do not meet the specifications stated in the Owner’s Manual.

Normal surface corrosion, paint fading, rubber aging, deterioration of oils or grease, natural wear, and depreciation over time.

Conditions that VinFast assesses as not affecting vehicle quality or operation, such as normal operating noise or vibration minor fluid seepage, etc.

Damage caused by factors beyond the manufacturer’s control, including fire, earthquakes, storms, floods, other natural disasters, and damage caused by animals.

Damage resulting from accidents or use in flooded conditions, or by foreign objects such as soil, sand, gravel, stones, sharp or hard objects, etc. striking the vehicle during operation.

Surface damage caused by factors beyond the manufacturer’s control, such as cigarette ash, chemicals, animal droppings, tree sap, salt, acid rain, and similar factors.

Damage to items subject to natural wear, such as brake pads, brake discs, wiper blades with or without rubber inserts, key-fob batteries, fuses, etc.; and consumables subject to periodic replacement, such as oils, grease, fluids, additives, filters, etc.

Damage caused by failure to follow the periodic maintenance schedule, or by maintenance or repair not performed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

Warranty does not apply to cleaning, inspection, adjustment services, or periodic maintenance items.

Alteration of the odometer reading that prevents accurate determination of the warranty period, or erasure, tampering, or loss of the original condition of parts that prevents verification that the parts were originally fitted to the vehicle.

Consequential damage caused by delayed inspection or repair at an Authorized Service Center/Dealer after damage is detected.

Damage occurring during the warranty period but reported after warranty expiry due to delay by the user.

To the extent permitted by law, VinFast is not liable for indirect losses or incidental expenses related to warranty service, including telephone charges, accommodation, replacement transportation, travel, business losses, or time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the new warranty policy apply to vehicles purchased previously?

The new warranty policy applies to vehicles purchased from the policy’s effective date. Vehicles purchased before that date remain subject to the warranty policy effective at the time of purchase.

Is normal battery degradation covered by warranty?
